The Nifty 50 index finally scaled the 20,000 mark on Monday, September 11, 2023, 52 sessions after hitting the mark of 19,000. The index has doubled in value in six years. It first hit the mark of 10,000 on July 25, 2017.

With Monday's move, the Nifty 50 is now up 10.5 percent so far this year. The index has given positive annual returns every single year, including the Covid-19 years, since the 4 percent drop it had in 2015.

This, despite the correction it has witnessed this year post the Hindenburg Research report and the subsequent legal issues. From Rs 87 on July 25, 2017, the stock went up to as high as Rs 4,000 before the Hindenburg report. It closed at Rs 2,615 on Monday.

LTI Mindtree | The merged entity of L&T Infotech and Mindtree is second on the list with gains of over 600 percent. It must be noted that the stock began trading as a merged entity only last year.
