Pepperfry cofounder Ambareesh Murty passes away - The Economic Times

Pepperfry cofounder and chief executive Ambareesh Murty passed away in Leh on Monday night due to a cardiac arrest, Ashish Shah cofounder of the omnichannel furniture retailer said in a tweet on Tuesday morning.
"Extremely devastated to inform that my friend, mentor, brother, soulmate @AmbareeshMurty is no more. Lost him yesterday night to a cardiac arrest at Leh. Please pray for him and for strength to his family and near ones," Shah's tweet said.

Murty started Pepperfry with Shah in 2012 and emerged as one of the leading online furniture retailers at the time. Murty was planning to take Pepperfry public and was working on the same since last year. In 2008, he was made the country manager for eBay in India. Three years later, he quit eBay to eventually set up Pepperfry.

Reacting to Murty's demise, Swati Bhargava, cofounder of Cashkaro, tweeted," So sad & shocking to hear of @AmbareeshMurty's sudden demise due to cardiac arrest. May his soul rest in peace. An amazing entrepreneur & inspiration to many... may his legacy with @Pepperfry live on #RIP."
