NEW DELHI: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will conduct an audit of Go First’s preparedness before allowing it to resume operations.
Rajit Ranjan, the airline’s VP of flight operations, has told this to employees in an internal note while requesting them to “be available for flying so that the relaunch is smooth and we start flying as soon as possible.”
Pilots will need to undergo a four-hour refresher on the airline's monsoon operations and other topics as preparation to recommence operations. "Since there has been a gap in flying operations, may I urge you to take utmost precautions as always and keep Flight Safety paramount,” Ranjan’s note says.
“DGCA will be conducting an audit to check our preparedness in the coming days. Once approved by the regulator, we would be soon commencing operations,” the note says while adding that the government has been very supportive and has asked the airline to commence operations as soon as possible.
The airline has told employees April salaries will be paid before its resumes operations. "Further, from the coming month, the salary will be paid in the 1st week of every month," the note adds.
The note says: “At the outset, I thank you for supporting us during these turbulent times. As you are aware we have been permitted by the NCLT to retain the aircraft and resume Operations as a going concern. This has been a landmark decision in the history of Indian aviation. The Indian Government has been very supportive and has asked us to commence operations as soon as possible. They are also supporting us to resolve the Pratt and Whitney engine issues. As a part of the readiness program, you have been planned for a four-hour refresher on monsoon operations, performance, etc. DGCA will be conducting an audit to check our preparedness in the coming days.”
“Once approved by the regulator, we would be soon commencing operations. The operations team will connect with you for the roster and training program. The CEO has assured that the salary for the month of April will be credited to your account before the commencement of Operations. Furthermore, from the coming month, the salary will be paid in the 1st week of every month. All departments are actively gearing up for the start of operations. You are requested to be available for flying so that the relaunch is smooth and we start flying as soon as possible. Since there has been a gap in flying operations, may I urge you to take utmost precautions as always and keep Flight Safety paramount,” it adds.
The DGCA will examine Go First’s operational readiness to see if it has the required financial and manpower strength to mount flights again safely.
