The number beat the Rs 3,985 crore profit figure analysts anticipated in an ET NOW poll.
Revenue for the quarter climbed 41.36 per cent YoY to Rs 18,320.16 crore from Rs 12,959.15 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. ET NOW poll had pegged revenues at Rs 15,044 crore.
Ebitda for the quarter stood at Rs 5,646.10 crore against ET NOW poll estimate of Rs 5,089 crore. Margin for the quarter stood at 32.7 per cent against ET NOW poll estimate of 33.8 per cent. Cigarette revenues were up 29 per cent YoY to Rs 6,608 crore.
Among segments, FMCG revenue came in at Rs 4,451 crore compared with Rs 3,725 crore, up 19.5 per cent YoY. Hotels revenue stood at Rs 554 crore compared with Rs 128 crore, up 332.8 per cent YoY. Paper segment revenue came in at Rs 2,267 crore against Rs 1,583 crore, up 43.2 per cent YoY.
