LIVE market update: Benchmark indices turned volatile in the last hour of trading. They came off all-time highs hit earlier during the session to trade flat, with a negative bias. The BSE Sensex shed 45 points to hover at 58,252 while Nifty gave up 17,400 to trade at 17,355, down 23 points.
Sectorally, FMCG was the best performer while Realty, PSU Bank and IT indices bled between 1-2 per cent.
In the broader markets, Nifty midcap 100 and Smallcap 100 too declined, down 0.45 per cent and 0.22 per cent, respectively.
